Rockwell City – Paul D. Wetter 72, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at his home. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with Fr. Clair L. Boes officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. A Parish Rosary will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church, followed by a Visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family to be used for Hospice and St. Francis Church. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.
Paul is survived by his wife Cynthia; son Jonathan (Stephanie Wisdom) Wetter of Lake City; sisters, Annette (Richard) Pierce of Bend, OR, and Marlene Reed of Fort Dodge; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. and Marie L. (Powers) Wetter; and brothers, Richard, Larry, and Ronald Wetter.
Paul David Wetter was born March 5, 1950 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Cedar Valley High School, with the Class of 1968. In 1972, Paul graduated from University of Iowa and returned to the Rinard area where he planted his first crop. In 1982, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Coltrane and their son Jonathan was born to this union. Paul farmed all his life. He also operated Wetter Tax Service and later Union Tax Service until his retirement in 2014. This fall Paul harvested his 50th crop. Paul and Cynthia enjoyed wintering in Arizona. He was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Church Boards, Bank Board, and Elevator Boards. A special Thank You to Kindred Hospice of Carroll, for the excellent care Paul and his family received, it was greatly appreciated.
