“I'll never forget the day Nick saved my life from the worlds largest wolf. Stopped by to see the Samuelson's on the way back to college and I was naive enough to just jump out of the truck and try and pet the cute farm puppy that had visions of me slathered in barbecue sauce. "little" doggy comes up to me and with a little head fake gave me a playful tug on the leg. Nick comes blasting out of the barn tackles the beast yelling at him and turned the horror movie creature into a cowering little puppy just begging for his masters approval. I'm sure I should have thrown the pooch a lefse browsing barn cat as a treat to keep the beast occupied while I dashed for the doorbell.

I will always remember Nick's infectious smile and the sound of his voice. Rest In Peace.”

“The news of Nick's passing was indeed a shock to me. I had not seen him in quite a few years, and my memory of him is as a big strapping young man, who shared his father's love of farming. It is said that everything goes according to God's plan, but in a situation like this, you have to wonder. I will pass the word around to your relatives up here. So sad.”

Our family always enjoyed the Samuelson family whether we were on the ball field (my husband coached Holley) or in the classroom (Julia was my Kindergarten student) and we saw how much Nick was loved by his family. Praying for peace and comfort at this difficult time.”

“Nick was always brought life into any room - filling houses, graduations, weddings and our farm visits with laughs.
I remember driving down the street in John’s new fancy, shiny car and Nick hollering at him to swerve to “scare off the birds” on the side of the road, and requesting to take over driving when John didn’t immediately jump at the chance.

He will be missed greatly, sending my love and prayers to the whole family during this difficult time. ”

“I am so glad to have had the chance to get to know Nick. He was such a genuinely funny and generous guy. Always ready to help others…..like that time my husband completely disregarded the instruction manual for my brand new jet ski and destroyed the engine. Nick to the rescue. Yamaha couldn’t figure out what happened. I got a new engine. We’re still married. LOL. Rest In Peace Nick! We are going to miss you. ”

“Nick was so much fun, whether we were at a graduation party for a cousin, or even at my own father's memorial service we would gravitate to he and John and start laughing at his stories. He'd do anything to help you out. After I ruined my wife's brand new jet ski's engine, Nick came over pulled it apart and did enough repairs that Yamaha couldn't assign the rightful blame to me, therefore getting me a new warranty engine and getting me out of a huge amount of trouble with my wife. Every time I was around Nick it was fun, I am going to miss him so much. ”

“So sorry for the family's loss, but I must share my favorite story about Nick. It was the early days of cell phones and Nick took his to a junior high football game at Jewell. He wanted to stop at Caseys on the way home. I'm pretty sure we lost badly, but Nick had used the phone to order a pizza. When I found out I asked him if he had ordered enough for the bus and he said no, so we all went home hungry.”
