“I worked with Barry at Pioneer. I can imagine what Dean was like by listening to Barry. I am amazed at Barry’s knowledge of John Deere tractors and other fix it knowledge. I know much of this stems from father / son workings. And Barry could sure tell stories about their farm and the family farm history. ”

“We will miss Dean so much. He always enjoyed conversation about what was going in our world and the world in general. I saw him several times say something a bit 'sideways' to a stranger with that twinkle in his eye. A laugh would soon follow and a new friendship made. Dean was a precision farmer before it became a techie phrase. His rows were straight, the plants were green, and the weeds few and far between. Arriving at the farm was a bit of heaven no matter the season. We were always well fed, watered, and comfortable. Laughing came often but the truth of serious topics were not avoided. Jodi especially appreciated the warmth and welcome into the family. His 'things' were more about the places it came from and the people he met along the way. He had the strong -Grant right way to do things- and I think I am lucky enough to receive a bit of that. I will miss my Uncle Dean.”

“Larry, Barry, Becky,Scott, and families,
Sending you prayers for strength, thoughts for healing and wishes for peace.
We are so sorry and saddened for the loss of your dear father, in all our hearts forever. We have fond memories of our families “neighboring” on our farms in Twin Lakes Township, so long ago… fun with birthday parties, dinners etc. And our dads were friends who could count on each other when they needed help with work on the farms, You were blessed with a wonderful father and mentor. The world is a better lace because he was here!
With sincere sympathy,
Anne Heideman Foster”

“So sorry to hear. Mr. and Mrs. Grant were both so nice to me on my visits there. Certainly they will be sorely missed by all.
I especially recall Mr. Grant walking me through the cemetery there. While walking through we passed by many Yeager names. He knew I was working a little Genealogy.
I pray his kindness, happy spirit and wonderful outlook on everything will sway the pain you all must feel. He was such a wonderful person.”
