Manson – Ruth Ann Dischler 83, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Burial of casket will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Ruth Ann is survived by her children, Julie (Gary) Harrison of Jefferson, Randy (Michelle) Dischler of Rockwell City, and Bart (Holly) Dischler of Spencer; six grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle) Schmaltz, Michael (Amber) Dischler, Mathew (Raeann) Dischler, Maria (Blake) Forthmann, Nathan (Renyse) Dischler, and Nicholas (Emily) Dischler; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Noah, and Caroline Schmaltz; Sophia and Sierra Dischler; Jaxon and Olivia Dischler; and one on the way in July; sister Margaret (Melvin) Berner of Rockwell City; brother-in-law Dennis Dischler of Mason City; sister-in-law Joan (Ron) Nelson of Rochester, MN; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Dischler; and her parents, Alvin and Mary (Carver) Anderson.
Ruth Ann Anderson was born July 21, 1939 at Lake City, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School with the Class of 1958. On February 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Gene Dischler at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. The couple made their home on a farm north of Lohrville for 56 years where they raised their three children. Ruth Ann along with her husband owned and operated a fleet of semitrucks for 28 years. In 2014, they retired and moved to Manson. They enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona for many years. Gene passed away in 2018. Ruth Ann was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran & Presbyterian Church.
