    Donald D. Kraft, 77, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his home.

  Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Palmer-Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.

    Donald Dean Kraft was born January 5, 1946, to Floyd and Kathyrn (Podhradsky) Kraft and was raised in Rockwell City area. On February 2, 1966,  he was united in marriage to Beverly Kraft in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Rockwell City. Donald was employed with IBP and ran a butcher shop in Fonda for a few years. Donald retired from trucking. He hauled anything and everything throughout his career. Donald loved smoking meats and grilling. He also enjoyed “tinkering” but above all he loved his grandkids the most. He will be dearly missed.

    Left to cherish his memory is his wife Beverly, children Sandy Taylor of California, Shelley Kraft of Fort Dodge, Sherry Dettman (Marty) of Jolley, and Donald Kraft Jr. (Julie Brackin) of Lohrville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Katie, Alyssa, Trevor, Nicholas, Corey, Ashlynn, Elizabeth, Aden, Madalyn, great-grands Ryker and Griz, and brother Robert Kraft.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Arlene Cater, Floyd Kraft Jr., Harley Kraft, and Vernon Kraft.

   Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
