Rockwell City – Michael J. Rastetter 54, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 28, 2023 at his home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the Jolley Community United Methodist Church, Jolley, with Pastor Felix Tshibang officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Mike is survived by his wife Lea; daughters, Mollie Rastetter of Ankeny and Ellie Rastetter of Rockwell City; his parents, Phil and Linda Rastetter of Jolley; brothers, Matt (Misty) Rastetter of Rockwell City and Justin (Amy) Rastetter of Sac City; mother-in-law Sue Daisy of Rockwell City; sisters-in-law, Lonnie (Matt Goodwin) Holder of Rockwell City, Diane (Mike) Baker of Harpers Ferry, and Shelly (Matt) Lucas of Apple Valley, MN; his loving dog Lemm; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Katie Rastetter, and Roy and Virginia Smith; and father-in-law Terry Daisy.
Michael Jon Rastetter was born October 8, 1969 at Lake City, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1988. Mike served in the National Guard and also graduated from Iowa Central Community College. On October 3, 1992 he was united in marriage to Lea Pennington at the United Methodist Church in Rockwell City. Mike worked for Rastetter Plumbing & Heating for over 31 years. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Viking fan. Mike was a member of the Jolley Community United Methodist Church.
