FORT DODGE

   Mickey N. Bloomquist, 81, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at Grandview Health Care Center, Dayton.

   Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Callender with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Burial will be in Callender Cemetery. A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family.

   Mickey is survived by his wife Sonja, step daughters Heather (Mark) Applegate of Fort Dodge, Heidi Geisler of Churdan, grandchildren Cobey Applegate, Grace Geisler, and Jacob Geisler. He is also survived by his brothers Carroll (Barbara) Bloomquist and Nelson (Delores) Bloomquist.

  He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Caroline (Green) Bloomquist.

  Mickey was born November 2, 1941 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Callender High School. Mickey farmed but his passion was driving truck, Peterbilt trucks to be exact. He drove all across the United States and Canada. On October 9, 2004, he was married to Sonja Swenson. They made their home on Mickey’s family farm.

   Mickey loved to fish. He also enjoyed old cars and watching Westerns. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church. 

 Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

SERVICES

   Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Callender with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Burial will be in Callender Cemetery. 

VISITATION

A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family.
