Ames – Dolores J. Gronemeyer, 94, formerly of Gowrie, passed away Friday November 3, 2023, at Northcrest Community Health Center in Ames.

   A celebration of life visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday December 9, 2023 (PLEASE NOTE DATE) at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie.

   Dolores is survived by her sons, Marshall (Donna) Gronemeyer of Scottsville, NY and Mitchell (Connie) Gronemeyer of Ames; daughters, Jenon (Joel) Cody of Grand Junction and Jana Kurth of Mankato, MN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

   Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gronemeyer, parents, Harry and Anna (Dirks) Lange, sister, Cherry Mallaro, and son-in-law Paul Kurth.

   Dolores J. Lange was born on September 5, 1929, in Sioux City, IA. Dolores was raised in Laurel, NE until her family moved to Gowrie in 1938. Dolores graduated from Gowrie High School in 1946. Dolores was united in marriage to Thomas Gronemeyer on February 6, 1951, in Des Moines, IA. The couple established their home on a farm near Gowrie in 1951. Dolores worked at the Farmers Elevator for 18 years. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

   Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
