Gowrie – Doris D. Mundt, 98, passed away Saturday November 4, 2023, at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Jefferson.

   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday November 9, 2023, at United Methodist Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Susan Rohden and Pastor Allan Redenius officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. A visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements.

  Doris is survived by her daughter, Carol Mundt of Jefferson; son’s Allan (Sharon) Mundt of Gowrie and Dave (Diane) Mundt of Callender; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

   Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Mundt, infant daughter, Marilyn K. Mundt, parents James and Mildred (Gower) Drayer, sisters, Jessie Shriver and Eva Blair, and her brother, Frank Drayer.

   Doris D. Drayer was born on August 29, 1925, in Paton. Doris was raised and educated in Paton, graduating from Paton High School in 1943. She worked in the office at the Jefferson Hospital. On October 19, 1947, Doris was united in marriage to Glen Mundt at her parents’ home south of Gowrie. The couple established their home and farmed north of Farnhamville. In 1958, they moved to a farm south of Gowrie, which they farmed until retiring in 1989. After retiring they then moved into Gowrie. Doris was a member of the Lanyon Covenant Church. She was active in TOPS and enjoyed bowling in a league for several years.
